Beta testing
« on: January 25, 2008, 05:52:50 pm »
Please help with beta testing. We sure code the game, but we can't find all the bugs as coding is a very time demanding thing to do.
Also, this is your chance to actually have an inpact of how beta4 will behave and look when it comes out.

Sadly, you linux users will actually have to move your lazy bum to your SVN download directory, and execute compile.sh.
MacOsX users will have to wait for new releases from albert (which are coming out pretty fast at the moment anyway ~~)

Most current version from subversion (Beta 4)*
[Single EXE] Windows: [Download]
DLL update that is needed for the most current exe: [Download]
You will need this to (else it looks weird!) save in data/frontend/ as frontend.cfg:
http://openlierox.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/*checkout*/openlierox/share/gamedir/data/frontend/frontend.cfg

Please backup both your old OpenLieroX.exe and HawkNL.dll files, as these releases are considered unstable (well, more unstable than your comfy beta1-3 anyway ~~) and might not even run/crash all the time!

Report bugs with the Sourceforge bug reporter. Do not fill in another bug report if there already is one about the same problem.
Please only report bugs for the current stable release & the "unstable" SVN version. (OLX Beta 3 & 4 at the moment)

Request features using the Sourceforge feature request tool.

Bugs should be dumped to the bug tracker, new feature requests to that tracker, but general changes (that are not considered bugs, like how things look) could as well be dumped in this thread.

The easiest way to tell is to use a SVN program and check for updates, I find. Or I guess you could try to memorise the version (or whatever the real name for it is) number of the exe.

Note: Some other person please remove this note to confirm this information is correct.

http://openlierox.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/openlierox/distrib/win32/OpenLieroX.exe?view=log

Remember what version you are on, and then check that page for newer ones - pressing download if there is one.

You also need this file - overwrite "data/frontend/frontend.cfg" file in your OLX dir - that will fix this weird scoreboard.

I'm bumping this, cause it's still up to date with beta-beta testing ;)

And do checkout what kind of reports hatten has been doing, they are good. (So if you find anything, try to be AT LEAST as informative xd)

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=180059&atid=891648

They really help us with pinpointing what we need to do, and what bugs there are at the moment.
