Topic: Take video while playing (Read 1044 times)

Hey guys.

I have seen some videos by players which took a video while they were playing, e.g. Lx.

Is there any program to use? I am not that pc expert, so i am looking forward to hearing from u soon :p

Camtasia Studios works perfectly.

You can try a trial for 30 days or something. Then you can 'upgrade' and make it your 'own'.

Things to do:
1. Download trial
2. Click on buy full version or smth
3. searh on youtube for a video: type: Camtasia studio 6 for free
4. you get licence codes for Camtasia 6
5. Enter licence codes in the installation progress
6 you got a good captue software

I can't remember if Sony Vegas had a recording capability. But what comes to Hypercam, I simply hate it. 50% or more of 'average' gamers uses the Unregistered which gives out a crap quality video. I'm not sure if it even records sounds. F(r)aps is also a good program. It comes handy in other games as it shows your FPS and is one button go-and-stop function. Certain programs must be started from the program itself without any hotkeys.

I have once tested 5 or so screen recorders in LX and Camtasia worked the best. Fraps was a bit too much for my sucky PC but alot of people use it.

Fraps eats FPS and is very heavy, but I think it's not a big problem with OLX. And the .avi files it records take a HUGE ammonaut of space from your hard-drive. + it costs you money... unless you illegally download it....

If I want to take video from ingame ill use WeGame recorder, but it will only work with popular games(hl2, css, WoW, BF, etc.). And liero isn't on the list. For the rest I use fraps.

I'we tried camstudio and ofc hypercam. I didn't like them as much as fraps.

does anyone here kno about screen capturing at all?
I mean seriously, their are alot of free opensource stuff out their. So u don't have to get stuff illegally!
For example:
Screen Toaster
Cam Studio

ScreenToaster is interesting but sadly limited to only 20MB videos (about 4 minutes), is quite slow and takes heavy resources (because of Java). Also the compression is quite bad and the upload to Youtube took very long (about 5 minutes - normally, uploading 20MB would take about 10 seconds or so for me). And it adds a stupid watermark.
