Hi,

I would like some mod which is similar fast to Quake3 or UT. I would also like to have some similar weapons in it like railgun (where you can kill the enemy with one single shot) and rocket luncher (I know there are some other mods which also have something similar but I think it should be much faster; you should be able to run away from such rocket only when you are really far away; the rocket luncher should also be fast enough that self kills are impossible (or only if you just shoot at the wall nearby you)).

It should also be possible to kill other worms when they are at high speed. E.g. if you hit with a rocket luncher somewhere near to them, this should give them still some damage.

The mod doesn't has to be exactly like Quake3, only from the gameplay. There could be also a lot of other nice weapons.

I would like to have such gamemod for games where you have immediate lives, I think it would provide a faster gameplay there.

Would be nice if any mod developer can do this (and has perhaps some own ideas). :)

We can also discuss some further ideas here.

Now that's what I had in mind.

I won't code anything but I might very well provide a base and ideas.

1. 5 weapons, moar does not equal better and there is no need for more as you've only got five slots.
2. No ridiculous reload times.
3. As Albert mentioned, weapons that actually hurts.

Roughly:
Shotty, something like the 1.0 supershotty, instagib at closerange full hits.
Rocket launcher, with some splash
Sniper/shock/rail rifle:ish weapon(hitscan projectile), non-instagib
minigun/short laser
Hitdetonated grenade: larger splash than the rocket launcher

Most weapons should also lose some of their efficiency on long ranges(+1,5-2 screens)

That'd be my base, a grenade isn't necessarily necessary.

Sure, but there is also the cooldown time. This should be zero.

I don't agree. That would make the game incredibly spammy. Even in UT you have cooldown times.

Yea ok, but they shouldn't be too high. The loading time should be the long waiting time.

And btw., have you ever played Quake3 excessive mode? I love it. :) It would be nice if the hoster can get such a similar game by setting lt=0 and with lt=100 it would be just a normal game.

Hey, never played that one before, but it's actually already pretty nice. Some things could be still improved though. E.g. the pause between each shot of the rocket luncher is too long IMO. Same for plasma shotgun. Perhaps you can make it that there is only one single shot before the next reload, then the hoster can fully decide by the loading time if he wants to have very fast shots or not.

It would also be nice if the electro gun pushs you away if you hit something in the distance. Then you can do this electrogun-flying like in Quake3. It's ok if it gives you damage (it also should be; you can disable that anyway with SelfInjure=off in beta9).

Also would be nice if you can do such rocket jumps similar to Quake3. That is by shooting at the ground at your place, it pushes you high in the air. Not sure if that is possible. It already pushes you up right now, but only sometimes and not very high. It also doesn't explode if you shoot at the ground but it should. (E.g. if you have SelfInjure=off and the enemy is very close to you, that is something you would try to do then.)

I also like it, it goes very much in the direction what I wanted. :) But it could still be better, see my comments.

I had that mod already on my disk (probably was downloaded when it was played on some server). I moved it now to OLX SVN (the Carnage Beta1.1), so it will be in next OLX release.

That is possible yes. But unless you want to search the code yourself, your best bet is to get help from one of the devs.

Okey i got my mod back ^^.
Just some questions, why do you need to be able to rocket jump when u have ninja rope?
I could make ninja rope so that you swing with it instead, like rope length=80 and rest length=80.

And how do you make so that a projectile move a worm? I have no idea how to do that, Im using LMS so maybe there is something ive mimssed.

A projectile can push you away without damage. You can use hidden projectiles which are spawned when you hit a player or a wall and which are going back in the direction to you.

But I am not a mod developer, I am not sure.
