Coming here is a big nostalgia trip every time. The death of LX was inevitable but feels wrong there's absolutely no one playing anymore.

Excuse me for speaking in a Str8 thread, but the statement that no one is playing anymore is definitely not true!
Come and check out Kurko's servers and you'll see that there is action going on there everyday! I play with Guts and Grasshopper almost daily!

Now i'm learning my 8-year old nephew and his friends how to play liero! As long as there are dedicated servers up and running liero definitely isn't dead!

I've played some games over the past couple of days. Much to my surprise, I have managed to confirm numerous human sightings during my brief stay here. Yesterday there was a whopping total 6 players playing simultaneously at Kurko's.

I will carry on with this experiment for a few more days to decide whether it is an anomaly or a trend.

There are still players online. Often at Kurkos. Personally I play often during the week around 7.00pm. And mostly there are players around. I often see Hathat and Paksukainen, but also Joonaaz, Thug, Guts and others. Just be there - sometimes you have do be patient. But if you are, there is often the possibility to have some good games  :)

With best regards.

Unfortunately my gaming days are at stall until I get a new machine. Or fix the old one. Which is unlikely enough.

I've been practicing alone 8 hours a day for 2 years, bring it on rapscallions. Victory in Fightbox 2018 is inevitable (because I'm the only participant).

Any hack to port it to Android?

Android release (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=openlierox.net).
Sources (https://sourceforge.net/projects/libsdl-android/files/apk/OpenLiero/).

You'd better get yourself Bluetooth gamepad, because touchscreen controls will not improve.
Some dialogs do not work with gamepad, maybe I'll fix this in a year or two.
It also should work on TV boxes, but I've never tested it that way.

Hi everyone! Google brought me here :)

I have been sick for a few days (fever, almost no sleep, weird dreams etc.) and this morning as I was waking up, the word Liero and the memory of this game just popped into my head unbidden. I haven't thought about this childhood game in, like, a DECADE. Which was really random, so I did some google searching out of sheer nostalgia and have downloaded the 1.36 from the "official" site and the 0.58 version from here.

Don't have time to boot the games up right now, but I'll definitely give it a go later. Problem is, I don't think I know anyone that would be willing to play this... so my question is, how are the online multi-player options looking at the moment?

Also, is there perhaps a Discord server? I run discord for other games, and it's great for catching people online and setting up team/clan stuff. Also, is there any particular day/time when people are online? Because that's a trick that sometimes works for low-activity groups; setting up one day of the week, like "Liero Fridays", and then there's no need to hang around in chat or anything else because you know that if you jump into the game on Fridays there's always going to be people playing? Just a thought.

Cheers!

:P

[SPOILER]If you do not have the skin file that is used by a certain player, then that player is shown with the default skin.

This can be useful if you encounter a skin that does not show the team color properly. Just delete that skin and you will see the default skin.

You can also change the default skin by renaming another file as "default.png"
