Try either your OLX folder or "Openlierox" folder in My Documents.

...Your limit is defined like this:
You have fixed upload limits if you set your network speed (under options) to Modem (2,5 kb/sec upload) or ISDN (7,5 kb/sec upload). These both limits are very low, but higher limits would not make sense for these connections. If you set the network speed to LAN, you'll have at least a limit of 10 kb/sec. But now you can also set a higher limit in the config file (cfg/options.cfg) under [Network] for MaxUploadBandwidth (specify the limit in bytes). You can write for example 20000 there (for 20 kb/sec), that is the default. But remember: This limit is ignored if your network speed is set to Modem or ISDN.

There is no options.cfg in my my cfg folder. Am I missing something?

thanks... i had no idea the game put files in my docs

i am convinced it is a significant difference and i am not just being fooled psychologically. if other people dont notice it, then the behavior must be only happening on my computer, or i am wrong. in either case, does someone know a quick and easy video recording program that i can use to test it and either disprove it to myself or demonstrate the behavior difference here?

When I was checking over the new OLX I felt that it was much slower too. First I thought the game speed was set slower by something, then I checked again and it was 1. It indeed felt a bit slower.

It might be a bug, when you set your speed upper from 1 like to the 2, and you put it back to normal it lowers it from 1?
Or something similiar.

I'm pretty sure that that is 100% psychological, it feels like that in every single game that you can manipulate the gamespeed in.

I just encountered still some problems in the upload limit check. It is not wrong, but just not optimal atm.  The problem is within the equal distribution of the upload data among the time. I am trying to improve that now.

If you want to disable the limit, you cannot do that directly. But an easy workaround is just to set an incredibly high value as the limit, that should always work.

Atm, you don't have much lags/delays, but it hangs sometimes for about half a second and then continues. I think it is still playable, but not nice though. I hope I get this fixed now.

It's not psychological. The game actually feels weird. I have never felt this in any previous beta's. I also noticed an FPS increase, Beta 4 and over I had 50-60 as a normal fps, now it is 80-90. I enjoy that however the game feels so weird. I will go back to beta 3.

It's because the game is consistent, aka. everyone is playing by the same rules.

This is also the reason why backwards compatibility is hurting the development: "I don't like this and that, but no worries I'll just use an outdated version instead!". People will never be unanimous concerning patches/updates to games, some are bound to dislike whatever change is made to their game.

No idea, I haven't noticed it.

You could try checking your masterserver file (OpenLieroX>cfg) if you have these three:
Quote from: masterservers
thelobby.altervista.org/server
lieroxtreme.thegaminguniverse.com/server
nspire.fw.nu/lierox/server

But I am quite sure that you have it right, so I can't do more. Wait (patiently) for a Dev to answer you question.

No-one has answered my question either: why is it that I have the exactly same 8-bit warfare 1.2 folder under both my b8 and b1 folders, but it only shows up in the mod list in b1? I have quite a lot of mods so there might be more that don't show up in b8 but so far this is the only one I've noticed. It's annoying because I have to switch over to b1 whenever I wanna play 8-bit  :'(

@Code
Does this always happen? If not, is there any pattern to follow? I just tested beta 5 and beta 8 and the serverlist is exactly the same.

Perhaps one of the masterservers is temporarily unavailable for you (although that is weird). Could you find out what kind of servers do not show in beta 8? Like "there are no LX .56 servers" or "I see only b8 servers" (you can check this out in Server details). Or is even this totally random?

@Sak
Could you please post your 8-bit's script.lgs file somewhere?

When it loads the serverlist, does it write "Getting serverlist, ../3" or "Getting serverlist, ../2" ?

Anyway, please post also the console output to such problems/bugs. (On Windows, as far as I know, you can get the console output with the parameter "-console". Or perhaps there is also a file stdout.txt. On non-Windows, it's just trivial to get it.) And better post it to SF, it is easier to keep this problem seperated there. (Every problem should always be handled seperatly, except they are related. It would only confuse otherwise and is harder to deal with.)

script.lgs is here script.lgs - 0.07MB

I would gladly also post the console output if I knew what that meant and how to do that  :-[
